Before the first hour
Questions
Is the first hour really free?
Yes. An hour at the bench, sketches and a written price, with no obligation. Most people take a week to decide and that is fine.
How firm is the published band?
We hold to it. The first hour fixes a written price inside the band; it only moves if you change the brief, such as a larger stone.
Lab-grown or natural diamond?
Both are real diamonds. Lab-grown costs about a quarter as much for the same size and quality. We show you both under the loupe and always label which is which.
How long does a ring take?
Six to eight weeks for most engagement rings, four to five for wedding bands. Tell us your date and we will say honestly whether it is possible.
Can you use my old gold?
Yes. We melt and refine it into the new piece where it is suitable, and credit its value against the price if it is not.
Do you resize rings you didn't make?
Yes, most of them, usually within the week. Walk in and we will look at it while you wait.
